i have been getting a message coming up on some sites it use that my internet explorer dose not work with this web site and i needs to up datei have xp windows and expolorer 8 do i needs to update to exp 9??

You can't update to IE9 as it isn't supported by XP. You may wish to contact the webmasters of the sites where this is appearing and ask for help if you have installed all critical and important Windows updates for IE8.
