I recently had my Norton run out and had to download the trend micro titanium for a few days until we can drive to the city for another Norton. Soooo, I uninstalled Norton so that Trend Micro can be installed properly, that went thru no problem, but ever since then, when I go into Facebook, a nagging box appears saying something like a script running is causing your browser to run slow or something like that, I will go in there after this message and come back and tell you exactly what it says. I eliminated alot of start up programs as suggested by microsoft and it keps happening. I did a scan and nothing showed up. Im using IE 8 and have Windows 7. Also, coming in here is not a problem and checking email is not a problem and other sites, just facebook. ya its killing me not being able to be in there, if I try to scroll down my page the message keeps popping up and you have to either hit yes or no and it pops back up a second later. I miss facebook lol, I know I have no life :)

Norton many times does not like to uninstall cleanly and Trend installs many browser helper objects that can cause problems with IE.

Download and run the Norton product removal tool here (choose your product, then follow the instructions): https://www-secure.s...n=1&pvid=f-home

Reboot, then see if the problem persists. If it does, try disabling the Trend add ons in IE and see if that helps. If not, you should contact Trend tech support for assistance.

This problem has been reported on the Trend Micro forum: http://community.tre...orer/td-p/52605

Unfortunately, whoever reported it did not follow up.

I think that may have something to do with Flash which needs to be installed to view all content on CF.

I get what she gets and am running win7 with IE9

That all happened when I got IE9 a few days ago.

The message about the disabled add on, or a script message?

Both, but the script went went away and never came back and I didn't do anything. It showed at facebook for a few weeks and that was that

I checked the little teeny box (don't ask me again) for the add-ons.. Oh, and I looked at the add-ons and all was good.

IE9 is fast as lightning anyway. No need to disable the very few add-ons I have, right?

I have..
Norton Java Windows ID sign-in HP and Shockwave .. that's it.

It was probably prompting you to install Flash in here.

Whenever I get a prompt from anyone, I just go to the website and do it from there. Good habit, eh? ;)

Yep, that's a very good and safe thing to do. (y) Not all sites are harmless like this one and may prompt to download something unsavory.
