Hi.

I heard about some xp users being forced to install 8 but I have windows7 home premium and this 9 got installed when I turned on my machine. I have all updates etc to be authorized by me. It is not automatic, so I would guess I need a blocking tool for my other computers right? (if I didn't want 9, like on my laptop vista)

Know what I mean? I'm going to use 9 right now. It is different for sure. Text looks different, back page arrows diff and for sure, the E icon at the bottom. I thought it looked kinda big and different..

Having a coffee and be back later if y'all want to comment. :)

It was announced in here some time back that IE 8 and 9 would be force installed by Microsoft (depending on operating system) and how to avoid it (it involved installing a toolkit). I can't locate the post right now, but I will look for it, if you decide you don't want IE9 and want to go back to a previous version.

I hear it's supposed to be more secure too. I was thinking of firefox, but I'll just hang on a bit and see.

I love the 150% zoom. I can see everything now, so watch out missy! ;)

Mind you, I always had the zoom feature..duh! But it's no longer on the bottom. It's at the top now.

I think I'll keep this baby for awhile. Maybe it's me, but it seems faster!

Am I losing it?

Nope. :) The majority of those who have gone from IE8 to IE9 prefer IE9.

Click on View>Toolbars>Status Bar to get the Zoom feature back on the bottom, too.

SURPRISE!!!!!! woke up this morning and magically had IE9 installed on this computer and had just read in here yesterday how to prevent it from happening but didn't get a chance to adjust things. Took me a minute or two to find my favorites ( its at the top right hand corner along with the home button and topols button in c ase anyone is stumbling around this morning). Don't really have time to "play" with it to figure things out to see if I like it or not.
Thanks to the folks here I at least had a clue as to why it chnaged etc and will probably be back assking questions!!!

Have a wonderfully blessed day.

Dustbunny. Click on view and select a couple of the toolbars to see which you want showing. I did that so my favourites show at the top of the page again :)
