I recently got a new laptop that runs Windows 7 and yesterday I tried to scan a document and got a message that my printer was not compatible with Windows 7. My old laptop's O/S was XP. I have been all over the internet trying to find a free download for a compaible driver but so far I haven't been able to find one. Can someone please help me with this. Thank you.
Printer Installation CD gives me the following information:
HP Deskjet F2100 Series
and
HP Deskjet F4100 Series

go to hp.com, click on the support tab, then drivers and downloads, look on the printer and figure out which one of the two you posted it is, type it in, then select your operating system (7 is there) download and ok your way through the install.

My apologies for not getting back to you sooner Peedro. I followed all your instructions and did get to the point whereby HP was downloading the driver I needed. Unfortunately just as the installation was complete I got the following message ,,,,
'Download was cancelled'
I clicked on the 'retry' button and, once again, jusr before completion of the installation I got the same message. Not wanting to give up on it I gave it another shot today but once again the same message appeared. Think I'll just have to go out and purchase a new printer that is already Windows 7 compatible. My thanks to you for trying ot help me with this one Peedro, I really do appreciate it.

Before you go spending money on a new printer, why not try contacting HP support. You can find the link here http://www.community...d-products-r147

Thanks once again for your input Peedro and Mums. I did what peedro suggested and 'Saved' it this time. Everything, with the exception of my scanner is working. I do use the scanner quite a bit but I'll settle for what's working at the moment. Thanks again.
