No problem Tom. I think we all understand that no matter how much you don't want it to, life has a habit of jumping up and biting you on the butt.

Thank you.

That's a great idea, Jeff! (y)

We talked about this yesterday at Church and this year we are thinking of having the kids from a small local orphanage visit our Church's Fellowship hall for a pizza party and a visit from Santa with a gift for each child. It's the least we can do for those less fortunate. Nothing breaks my heart more than knowing there are children out there without a toy on Christmas morning.

Thank you Jeff :) I hope there will be a lot of smiles on the faces of the children on Christmas morning that we are able to help :)

Nice idea Sirjeff. My sons college has just taken part in Operation Christmas child, which is part of Samaritans Purse. They all got into groups of three and filled a shoe box with loads of things from toys, pens & paper to toothbrushes & soap. We gave him loads of items to put in the shoe box, which are then distributed to needy children :)

Here is the link for those in the UK & Ireland who may wish to take part http://www.operation...aschild.org.uk/

A wonderful and thoughtful idea, Jeff. (y)
My kids and I usually pick a child from one of our local Angel Trees to give to. It helps my kids understand the reason for the holidays.

Here's some info on Toys for Tots

Back when, they used to take used toys to refurbish. Like maybe a wagon just needed a wheel, we'd put one on it and maybe repaint it if needed. I say we cuz I helped them a couple of years.

Dropped off a little something the other day. I'm extremely grateful this forum has continued to function.
