a friend of mine has a acer netbook running win xp he picked up a virus
i have been trying to do a restore to earlier date but it wont let me
he has disks for his other acer to do full restore but net book dosnt have cd drive
any ideas on how to overcom problem?
net book cant get online
and virus apparently came from p*** dialer

Doing a system restore to get rid of a virus/malware/spyware will make it impossible to get rid of it. He doesn't have security software installed on the notebook?

To reload/install software on a netbook without an optical drive - your friend will need to buy a portable optical drive and connect it to the notebook generally with a usb connection.

Reboot and hit the alt and F10 buttons at same time and follow the prompts. That should hopefully restore the computer back to the way it was at the point of purchase.
