hello, again!

I am hoping someone will recommend a Hotmail Desktop e-mail alert program/system/option other than Windows Live Essentials Messenger. Unexpected Messenger popup requests to add the most outlandish usernames (spam I suppose) to my contacts really bothered me. I combed Windows Live 'Home' and locked down everything I could find but the requests wiggled through. dry.gif I never used Messenger for any other reason and am confident I did not unknowingly open my door to unwanted invitations. unsure.gif

I removed the Messenger Program from Essentials.

Mobile alerts for new messages You can set up mobile alerts to let you know whenever you get a new e-mail message (or just when you get messages from specific people).

To start getting alerts as text messages, sign up for Windows Live Mobile. The service is free, though your phone company may charge you depending on your mobile plan.

If you received a confirmation code on your mobile phone but still see this page, finish the sign-up process.

Tip: To use Windows Live Hotmail wherever you are, go to http://mobile.live.com on your web-enabled mobile phone.
